Watermelon, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice are all you need to make this delicious Watermelon Margarita recipe! Made completely in a blender, it's the best way to use fresh watermelon.
If, like me, a margarita is your go-to drink, then you're going to love this watermelon margarita.
While I typically opt for my skinny margarita or even my mango margarita, this watermelon variety is so refreshing and couldn't be easier to whip up.
Watermelon - Fresh or frozen; see "tips and tricks" section below for both options.
Tequila - Opt for your favorite kind! Mine is blanco tequila, but any variety will work.
Triple sec - Also known as orange liqueur. My go-to is cointreau because I think it tastes the best.
Lime juice - Always use fresh lime juice, never bottled. Trust me, it makes a huge difference!
Sweetener - I opted to use honey, but agave is another great choice. I would not use maple syrup, as it's going to impact the flavor too much.
See below for how to make a frozen margarita if that's your preference. I opted to make a fresh margarita, so let's walk through how to do that.
Step 1: Dice the watermelon. Cut the watermelon into chunks, then place it directly into a high power blender.
Step 2: Add remaining ingredients. Pour the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and honey directly into the blender overtop of the watermelon.
Step 3: Blend. Blend the mixture until smooth, then pour it through a fine mesh strainer to remove the pulp.
Step 4: Serve. Run a lime wedge along two cocktail glasses, then dip the rim into salt (or sugar). Pour the margarita into the cocktail glasses filled with ice, garnish with a lime round and enjoy!
Save yourself the time and energy and buy a seedless watermelon.
Fresh: Dice the watermelon, then place it into your blender along with the other ingredients. Blend, pour through a strainer and enjoy!
Frozen: There are two options: 1) Freeze the watermelon cubes ahead of time, then add them to the blender or, 2) Add the diced watermelon along with a handful of ice cubes to your blender. Blend, strain and enjoy!

Tips and tricks
- As much as I love my Nutribullet, I wouldn't use a small blender for this, especially if you're making a frozen drink. Instead, opt for a high-power blender.
- A little separation is natural once you pour the drink into glasses; simply stir the mixture occasionally.
- Make the drink spicy by adding half of a jalapeño (make sure to remove the seeds) into the blender as well.
Tip
Save yourself the time and energy and buy a seedless watermelon.
